I studied classical guitar in the 90s under Richard Wright (now head of guitar at the Yehudi Menuhin school of music)
I was frustrated with the tone of my factory built instrument and decided to build my own. I was immediately hooked! and after much encouragement from players, decided to devote my time to full time guitar making.
I undertook a guitar making course at the London guildhall university and shortly after set up a workshop in Ascot, Berkshire, where I build around 12 guitars a year.
I build using very little machinery, concentrating on using traditional hand tools, as I feel it is important to be in touch with the materials while maintaining control over my work.
Traditional hide glue is used in virtually all operations, it is strong, adds to the tonal qualities and is tried and tested over hundreds of years. Every aspect is handmade in a controlled environment, using the finest materials, which I source myself.
I have received much guidance and advice from professional players and other makers over the years and this has helped me evolve as a maker and produce guitars that are easy on the hands with slim necks a comfortable action, and a profile to suit the modern guitarist.
I also have detailed access to many master guitars such as Hermann Hauser, Santos Hernandez, Hernandez y Aguado and D. Friedrich to name a few.
My guitars are also stocked by Kent Guitar Classics UK
